Melanie Makes Meringues Flower Corsages
We made these fabric flower corsages recently at the Salvation Army day centre sewing group. Very Sarah Jessica Parker, n’est pas? They have a brooch pin sewed on to the back so you can pin them on your jacket or your bag.
The clients didn’t want to make them at first when I showed them what we were doing. Sometimes there’s not a whole lot of diplomacy amongst the homeless and vulnerable. Once we got going they enjoyed making them and the finished result though. We always show what we make to the two lovely volunteer ladies who do the catering on Wednesdays and man (woman!) the hatch. They are generous in their praise and admiration which is a real encouragement to the clients (and to me!).
Not many sessions until the end of term.
