Portable Princess and the Pea

The Princess and the Pea is one of my favourite stories. I thought to myself wouldn’t it be a good idea to make a portable version of the story. I have always found the princess rude and petulant. After all she is being given shelter from the storm, why make such a fuss about the bedding? We were discussing at home what the moral of the story is. Are we saying to our children make a big fuss and you will get exactly what you want? My youngest son thought the message of the tale was “EAT YOUR VEGETABLES!!”. I am working on a re-write, to be sub-titled, “It’s a pea, get over it”.

She looks pleased to get in to that nice, comfy bed………………

Ooooh, she won’t like that pea under that last mattress.
